Cristiano Ronaldo becomes first man to score in five tourneys in win

Portugal defeated Ghana 3-1 thanks to a penalty kick conversion by Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the 65th minute, the 37-year-old calmly placed his penalty past Ghanian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi's right side to give Portugal a 1-0 lead.

Diogo Costa, a goalkeeper for Portugal, almost committed the tournament's worst error when he dropped the ball during a lacklustre performance.

Portugal now leads Group H after the game ended 3-2, with South Korea and Uruguay drawing their opening match.

On Monday for Matchday 2, Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates will return to face Uruguay at 2:00 p.m.
